TMZ reports Selena “permanently reliev[ed]” her mother Mandy and her stepfather Brian Teefey of “all duties related to the management of her career.” They’ve filled those spots since Selena made it big with Disney back in the day.
Why the change? Excuse us if only one word jumped to mind upon hearing the news: Bieber. Selena’s been spotted looking awfully chummy with her former flame in recent weeks. There was that steamy dance session they booked (and filmed), then the reported makeout sesh. Just this week, the two are said to have had a late-night rendezvous at the studio where Justin says he’s dropping some mad beatz.
Selena’s parents reportedly aren’t aboard the good ship Biebs, so could star-crossed love (or, you know, something like it) be behind Selena’s split from Mom and Pops? She’s not saying, though sources tell TMZ “family friction” wasn’t the reason for the parting of ways. Selena simply “believes she’s now old enough” to get a professional manager to lead her team.
